The Whispering Gallery was a narrow pass through the Garaaki Highlands on Kharak. The pass provided access from the Beladin Dune Sea in the west to the Dreamlands in the east. The area was in Gaalsien territory.
During the planning of Operation Khadiim, the expedition was originally meant to head due east across the Sparkling Desert from Coalition territory and then cut south-east towards the Primary Anomaly, avoiding Gaalsien territory. However, as the operation developed the carriers Kapisi and Sakala instead cut south to investigate Gaalsien operations at the Kalash Site and then in the eastern Beladin Dune Sea. This necessitated both carriers risking the Whispering Gallery to get back on course.
The Sakala entered the pass first, but roughly halfway through came under heavy attack from two Gaalsien heavy carriers, the K'had Retribution and K'had Sunder. The Kapisi arrived to provide support. With the Kapisi advancing north on the western side of the pass and the Sakala advancing north on the eastern side, the two carriers were able to coordinate ground and air strikes to drive the Gaalsien forces back and then destroy the two enemy carriers. The two Coalition carriers were then able to punch through to the Khashar Plateau.
