The Boneyard was a military installation belonging to the Coalition of the Northern Kiithid on Kharak during the Exile. It was located 214km east of Epsilon Base, near the far eastern end of the Stormbreaker Wall. It was located north-west of Cape Wrath and Hell's Gate and some distance south of the Coalition capital at Tiir.

History[]

The Boneyard was constructed to be a storage area for mothballed desert vehicles and those awaiting disposal, hence the name.

In 1110 KDS, the command carrier Kapisi travelled to the Boneyard a premature departure from Epsilon Base to finalize outfitting and supplies, which were delivered by Epsilon Lander Six-Zero-Seven. They came under attack from Kiith Gaalsien forces while docked at the Boneyard, but, partly thanks to the arrival of Coalition forces fleeing from other bases, held out long enough for a sandstorm to blow in and cover their departure. Surviving Boneyard personnel are assumed to have evacuated on the Kapisi or by other means. The Gaalsien are assumed to have destroyed or occupied the base.

The attack was only one of several launched by the Gaalsien against Coalition forces, with Epsilon, Juno and Charlie Bases all being destroyed. Despite the base's abandonment, it was a de facto defeat for the Gaalsiens, as they failed to prevent the expedition's launching.

Description[]

The Boneyard lies in the middle of a valley between the mountainous regions of the north and Cape Wrath. It is an open base, without walls, though it is surrounded by sand dunes sowed with sensors and defensive turrets. It had few buildings, and the structures were surrounded by old sand vehicles, partially dismantled. Its main characteristics were a long airstrip, capable of allowing the landing of a Lander, and a huge dock capable of housing a Sakala-class carrier.
