Technical Manual Description[]
While the standard raider Strikecraft is considered obsolete by most galactic powers, it is employed using tactics that allow it to hit above its weight lcass. This often makes it a deadly threat to the overconfident. The effectiveness of the Tarazed is enhanced by Raider familiarity with terrain close environments like asteroids, airless moons and even Progenitor Facilities. Hiigaran Intelligence has so far discovered Raider settlements in 4 different gate complexes that lay outside any political boundary. Tactical analysis of their location and defenses has revealed that the cost of rooting the Kalan communities out of these locations would be too high in terms of lives and equipment on both sides. The very real possiblity of squadrons of Tarazeds hiding in every access point and loading bay contributed heavily to this decision.[1]

Analysis[]
A Campaign-only unit that you will face in a couple of early missions. A damaging Strike Craft often encountered in numbers, but they definitely show the obsolete nature of Kalan Raiders technology; their weapons are barely on par with, and their hull worse than, Hiigaran Recons yet they are classed as full Interceptors. A number of them have the passive status "Vulnerable: This poorly-maintained unit takes significantly more damage."
Have plenty of Recons or Interceptors available to fight them and these won't do much.
