- "Production utility vehicle built to increase fabrication and resourcing capabilities. Quick select with 'F4'." — In game description
The Daeva-class Support Capital Ship (Coalition codename: Caaw Duk-class Production Cruiser) is a cruiser-class vehicle used as a mobile production facility by Kiith Gaalsien during the Exile Era. It was first sighted c. 1060 KDS.
Lore[]
- "The current Gaalsien production cruiser, named by intel after the ancient spirit of the harvest, began its career nearly fifty years ago as a frontline combat cruiser. As weapons and sensors advanced, the Caaw Duk was slowly withdrawn from front line combat service and reappeared with reduced weaponry and massively increased production facilities. While it is often found at the heart of the extended resourcing squadrons, it can also be found supporting the spear thrust of a main assault, sitting just behind the front line and rapidly producing dangerous combat units to replace losses and keeping the offensive going." — Expedition Guide
Campaign[]
Production cruisers are the Gaalsien's rough analogue of the Coalition of the Northern Kiithid's Support Cruiser, in that they both serve as resource drop-off points. However, their function is more closely in-line with the Command Carrier: they produce units instead of maintaining them.
Production cruisers are factory ships and one of the sole source of vehicle manufacturing within the Gaalsien. Destroying them can severely limit the number of units the Gaalsien can send at the player's forces in most campaign missions, though Gaalsien forces can rarely be completely eliminated short of winning each mission. Production cruisers are lightly armed, only defended with four PD Gatling Machine Guns and must require other vehicles for their defence.
Production cruisers may be hacked by Rachel S'jet's Science Baserunner, allowing the player to build Gaalsien basic and heavy vehicles. However, production cruisers cannot build cruisers of their own, nor can they manufacture aircraft.
Multiplayer[]
Production cruisers are available to Kiith Gaalsien and Khaaneph. They are a mix between the Support Cruiser and the Command Carrier and is an important logistical vehicle. They can both repair and construct new vehicles and the destruction of one can seriously hamper the progression of the Gaalsien. The starting fleet of any Gaalsien or Khaaneph force in a skirmish includes one production cruiser.
While lightly armed, the vehicle can also be used as storage for resources from Salvagers (after the Refinery Mode upgrade has been purchased). Production cruisers also have moderately powerful anti-air capabilities, though they are not as strong in this role as missile ships.
