== Background ==
The Processor, as the designation implies, is basically a mobile ore refinery and processing unit. Though almost as large as a carrier, it has no production capabilities, being filled instead with storage bays and processing lines. They were initially unarmed, but Turanic raider attacks forced Somtaaw to add mass driver turrets to the unit, and then AI-controlled repair beams. The mass drivers were eventually upgraded into energy cannons over the course of the '''Beast War'''.

As an aside, Processor staff are unique in that Somtaaw specifically designates miners to crew it. No Processor is crewed by soldiers or other combat officers, only miners.

== Role ==
The Processor serves as a vital resource dropoff point for [[Worker]]s for mining operations further away from the main fleet as it can move almost as fast as a [[Worker]], and it is able to unload resources from up to four [[Worker]]s simultaneously. It also has one Crystal Processing Beam in the front. Its four smaller weapons won't do much, but they can still help against enemy strike craft.

Its automatic four repair beams are its real strength. These can be critical for supporting the rest of the fleet in heavy combat. Unlike most repair beams, these can repair strike craft within their range.

[[The Beast]] stole and adopted the design for this ship from [[Kiith Somtaaw]] for its own forces. The Beast variant appears to be a pound-for-pound match to the Somtaaw one.
