In-Game Description[]
The central flagship in all fleets, it is able to construct almost any sort of ship.
Strong vs. nothing-Utility vehicle.
Weak vs. fast moving and single-target, high-damage opponents.
The "Sajuuk"-class Mothership is designed to be a Fleet's central flagship. It is a mobile shipyard that is able to construct vessels of almost any size, as well as hyperspace transit an entire fleet. Its only weak point is self-defense.
Technical Manual Description[]
The Sajuuk class Mothership is designed to be a fleet central flagship. A mobile shipyard that can construct almost any size vessels and is able to Hyperspace transit an entire fleet. Using a triple Hyperspace core system, (Progenitor Cores in the case of the Khar-Sajuuk and Hiigaran-built Synthetic cores in the proposed Khar-Kushan) its only weak point is self-defence. The point defence weaponry aboard the Sajuuk class is powerful but limited and can be fairly easily overwhelmed by a committed enemy.
This era's Mothership requies an escort that matches the combat environment. In Areas of Operations where only enemy Strikecraft and frigates are expected, then a CAP of Azkor Interceptors back up by a flight of Sho'az Bombers is sufficient. But, in fleet-on-fleet engagements, a mothership should hold a Capital ship division close by as well as substantial resource reserves in case of enemy breakthrough. There is no greater renown in the galaxy than being the armed force that has taken down a Hiigaran Mothership.[1]
Analysis[]
The Hiigaran Mothership, otherwise known as the Khar-Kushan, is the flagship where Imogen S'jet will command Hiigaran fleet from in Homeworld 3, both for the campaign and in Skirmishes. The Mothership is roughly 2.6 kilometers long and 187 meters wide in its central point. It has independent production bays allowing it to construct every unlocked ship class at once, though note that this will be very expensive in resources, which it itself can also help gather alongside Resource Controllers as it has its own squadron of four Resource Collectors, the same as one Controller.
On its stern, the ship bears a trio of "Synthetic Cores", near-perfect replicas of the Three Hyperspace Cores. It also has sublight engines and a more standard hyperspace drive. Unlike the pervious two motherships, this one can "flip", from a horizontal to a vertical configuration, something that will be necessary for a tight ship, maneoeuvres in asteroids fields and around "megaliths", ancient alien structures.
In the Campaign it gains a wide variety of additional upgrades: a weapon Overcharge ability, a temporary Self-Repair system, a powerful Fusion Missile weapon, passive boosts to its engine speed and several others.
In Skirmishes, compared to its Incarnate counterpart the Titanship (though still called in Skirmishes a Mothership), the Sajuuk-class has stronger sensors but a slightly weaker hull, and twice the number of defense guns.
