The Kapisi is the command carrier of the Kiith S'jet's expeditionary force of Operation Khadiim. After escaping the Gaalsien invasion of the Northern Coalition, they battle their way to the primary anomaly, inflicting decisive losses against the Gaalsien and discovering the secrets of Khar-Toba, winning the Desert Wars.
History[]
Coalition Territories[]
The Kapisi was one of five Sakala-class command carriers planned by the coalition, all of whom were dedicated to the operation to recover the Jaraci Object. Their chassis and technology was an improvement to its predecessor, the Ifriit Naabal class carriers. It was the first to be built, and the second to be completed, as Kiith Siidim rushed the Sakala's construction to get the class named after it. The massive vessel was constructed and outfitted at Epsilon Base by Kiith S'jet. It was launched three months ahead of schedule, despite its systems only at 60% readiness, in response to attacks by Gaalsien forces, driving out into the Great Banded Desert. The remaining equipment and supplies were loaded onto Epsilon Lander Six-Zero-Seven and departed as soon as they were ready.
The Boneyard[]
The vessel first traveled to a S'jet supply post known as the Boneyard, where it was refueled and its sensor module was installed, provided by the Epsilon lander, allowing the ship to detect the Gaalsien attack on the base. After they rescued the survivors of Epsilon Base, the Boneyard and the Lander's crew, the Kapisi departed under the cover of a massive sandstorm.
Hell's Gate[]
The Kapisi traveled to Hell's Gate, at the east of Cape Wrath, to rendezvous with another coalition carrier, the Siidim carrier Sakala, which had also escaped the Gaalsien attacks. Expecting the Sakala after detecting traces of a coalition signal, Rachel instead found the remains of the Ifriit-Naabal, the flagship of Operation Skaal Brii. Inside the wreck, and while her baserunner was being attacked by Gaalsien raiders, she found the Ifriit's backup data drive, and an alien artifact, which was later integrated with the Kapisi's systems. The artifact, which was a "Sensor Waveform Amplifier", greatly enhanced the carrier's sensor capabilities, filtering the sandstorm's interference, and allowing it to find the source of the Gaalsien attacks, a production cruiser that was dispatched shortly afterwards.
The enhanced sensors also detected two Gaalsien carriers in pursuit, forcing the Kapisi to change course and go south, to the Sarathi Basin, and deep within Gaalsien lands, using the coordinates discovered within Ifriit-Nabaal's computer systems of a ship wreck site that supposedly contains additional alien artifacts.
Kalash Site[]
The Ifriit's coordinates led the Kapisi to the Kalash site, a massive derelict starship that laid on the white sands of the Sarathi Basin. After scanning it and confirming it was of alien origin, the Kapisi started a shipbreaking operation, which was sabotaged later that day by the Gaalsien forces, led by Khagaan, commanding from her carrier, the Ashoka. The Gaalsien nearly overwhelmed the Kapisi's forces with their numbers until the timely arrival of Sakala's bombers, which decimated the encroaching forces surrounding the Kapisi. Both coalition carriers together defeat Ashoka's siege cruisers before pursuing the Ashoka itself, which had fled with its superior speed.
Beladin Dune Sea[]
The Kapisi and the Sakala pursued the Ashoka to a wide debris field in the Beladin Dune Sea. The Sakala distracted the Ashoka while the Kapisi raided its resource gathering operations. The Sakala attempted to warn the Kapisi that the Ashoka was returning to defend its resourcing operations, but Kapisi was unable to escape. Kapisi's fleet engages Ashoka's fleet which is at full strength, and after a long and protracted battle, the Ashoka is destroyed, with Khagaan commending the Kapisi's crew as a worthy opponent, before warning them of an inevitable death should they continue to pursue a path to the stars.
The Gaalsien Base[]
After installing salvaged cooling systems from the Ashoka, the Kapisi and Sakala afterwards encounter a Gaalsien base on their way towards the primary anomaly. The Sakala draws away most of the defenders through the same attack and run tactic. Kapisi discovers the Gaalsien base to have been conducting extensive and thorough resourcing, salvage and research operations of several wrecked starship hulks. They suspect that the Gaalsien's technology may have been sourced from these alien technologies. After carefully circumventing Gaalsien's fortifications, Rachel's team enters the base and steals a large volume of Gaalsien research as well as a Gaalsien Honoguard cruiser, before escaping after the Gaalsien trigger the base's self-destruct sequence.
Garaaki Highlands[]
As they continue, Kapisi's fleet encounters half a dozen starship wrecks which are in perfect condition and no sign of atmospheric reentry damage. Both the Kapisi and the Gaalsien carrier, Renza attempt to salvage several artifacts in the area, and after a battle while ascending the Massara Steps and reaching the Garaaki Highlands, the Renza is destroyed by Kapisi's fleet.
Whispering Gallery[]
Both the Kapisi and the Sakala battle against an elite division of the Gaalsien's forces. Gaalsien carriers K'had Retribution and K'had Sunder bombard Sakala with missile strikes, while assaulting Sakala's defensive lines with heavy vehicles and cruisers. Kapisi joins the battle, and after an intense firefight, both Gaalsien carriers retreat to the valley below. Coordinating together, the Kapisi and Sakala destroy both Gaalsien carriers after a long battle.
Kashar Plateau[]
Kapisi's captain suspects impending treachery from the Kiith Sidiim and believes the Sakala captain, Mashad is harboring something. Both the Kapisi and the Sakala plan to occupy the Kashar Plateau, a cluster of oblong mesas, with a particularly massive mesa that can act as a runway for three inbound coalition landers which are delivering much needed supplies, fuel and water. The Sakala once again draws away Gaalsien forces defending the Kashar Plateau, while the Kapisi breaches the remaining fortifications and Gaalsien defenders, including large numbers of anti-air missile ships. The Kapisi begins to build fortifications at the plateau as Rachel S'jet is dispatched with an escort to investigate a signal transmission at Torins crater, located halfway towards the primary anomaly, after a Gaalsien fleet approaching the primary anomaly is attacked by an unknown orbital strike.
After securing the Kashar Plateau, the Kapisi defends its position against a large number of Gaalsien forces, as well as numerous Gaalsien air strikes. Sakala later arrives, timing its arrival with its Sidiim lander. As Sakala resupplies from its lander, the Kapisi fleet eliminates two large groups of Gaalsien anti-air missile ships. As the remaining two coalition landers approach the Kashar Plateau, the Sakala announces on an open comm, that despite Kapisi's gallant efforts inflicting devastating losses against the Gaalsien, the primary anomaly was for Kiith Sidiim alone to claim. Sakala fires two anti-air missiles, one at each lander. One misses, and one strikes the first lander. As the first lander crashes into the plateau and is destroyed, the second one crash lands. The Kapisi salvages whatever supplies that survived the crash landing.
Torins Crater[]
Rachel S'jet discovers a shipwreck, , within a massive crater. Investigating the shipwreck, she finds the remains of her brother, Jacob S'jet. Jacob had escaped from Gaalsien captivity and reached Torins Crater, at the epicentre of which, lies the Taiidan, a Taiidan carrier. Jacob had triggered an orbital satellite of Taiidan to strike and hinder Gaalsien fleets encroaching on the Khar-Toba.
The Sakala closes on Rachel S'jet. Her escort wards off initial attacks while Kapisi is on the way. Escaping the crater itself, Kapisi arrives by Rachel S'jet's team, overheating from operating in the red for hours, with the slower cruisers trailing behind. After recovering an artifact cools Kapisi from overheating, Kapisi engages the Sakala, which has occupied the epicentre of the crater, beside the Taiidan carrier. Throughout the battle, the Sakala attacks with cruise missiles, air strikes and battlecruisers but is eventually defeated and destroyed, with no final words from her captain.
Khar-Toba[]
Kapisi reaches the primary anomaly, with Rachel S'jet being the first to reach the wreck site itself alone. Gaalsien forces surround the wreck site and attack from every direction as the coalition fleet set up sensors to rectify targeting and alignment technical issues from the Taiidan satellite weapon. The satellite is eventually operational under Rachel S'jet's control, and it aids in destroying a Gaalsien carrier. Numerous Gaalsien hovercraft and aircraft are also destroyed as well.
The K'had Sajuuk, the Gaalsien Kiith-Sa arrives with a massive force lead by a super carrier flagship, the Hand of Sajuuk. K'had Sajuuk remarks that the coalition's victories up until now have been pre-ordained by the gods themselves before commencing his attack. The coalition fleet continues to engage the Gaalsien forces which encircles, and after an intense battle, the Hand of Sajuuk, suffering from too much damage, is destroyed. K'Had Sajuuk's final words were of regret and fear for the future of Kharak, now that the Kushan's return to space seemed inevitable - a sentiment that would ring true, as the Taiidan Empire destroyed Kharak and the majority of the Kushan species for doing so.
Rachel S'jet and the rest of the coalition expedition begins to uncover relics within the Khar-Toba site itself, beginning to reveal the true origins of their past.
Campaign[]
The Kapisi functions primarily as fleet command and production. It builds vehicles from LAVs and armored assault vehicles to cruisers and aircraft. Throughout the expedition journey, Kapisi encounters artifacts that provides it with additional power, production lines and hull. The deck of the Kapisi is a runway to launch and recover strike fighters, gunships and tactical bombers.
Kapisi's engineering team researches additional fabrication technology, unlocking more vehicles for production and for Kapisi's fleet. Kapisi's production capability includes heavy vehicles, cruisers and large aircraft like tactical bombers.
It is heavily armored and possesses the highest amount of hull of any coalition vehicle. However, given its size, it is relatively fragile particularly to Gaalsien heavy railguns, especially when the Kapisi cannot channel any power to its systems. Power shunted to Kapisi's reactive armor reduces the amount of damage taken. Kapisi's primary armanents are its turret network, featuring four point-defence cannons, its ground-to-ground missile launcher, and its cruise missile silo. Power can be channeled into its weapons and turret network to increase the number of missiles launched and its weapon ranges. Power can also be shunted to repair systems.
Despite its size, it can move at a relatively decent speed, though it cannot handle rough terrain unlike most other units, being blocked by even relatively small dunes.
Unlike most units, the Kapisi cannot gain veterancy levels from combat.

Trivia[]
- The Kapisi derives its name from the ancient city of the same name, which was the capital of the Kingdom of Kapisa, which fell at the hands of Alexander the Great. It was later rebuilt and became the capital of the Kushan Empire. In modern times, it's now known as Bagram.
