Technical Manual Description[]
The Azkar-D is the current generation Space Control fighter serving in the Hiigaran Fleet. The original A model first saw action during the first Kalan Raider Interdiction missions of 9719 GSY and received a lackluster review from most fleet pilots. Seen as trying to satisfy too many mission types at the price of excelling at none, many squadrons successfully campaigned to retain the previous generation Zolan-G fleet defender fighters for as long as possible.
But eventually the Zolan became to expensive to integrate with cutting edge fleet networking systems and the Azkar became more capable with every iteration. The D model seems to finally have stepped out of its predecessor's shadow with the incorporation of a S'jet High Energy Labs 1KXS power plant. This breakthrough reactor allows the Azkar-D to not only execute high G maneuvers at full speed but also powers a higher efficiency RFR capable of being overcharged for short periods when a heavier punch is required. These changes are tailored to terrain-close operations, and it seems the Azkar is finally the ship its designers dreamed of so many years ago.[1]

Analysis[]
Your main combat strike craft as a Hiigaran, the Interceptor is a solid fighter that will see a lot of use. However they are still relatively fragile; a lot of Incarnate ships are very dangerous to them, such as groups of Attack Frigates, Assault Corvettes and Anti-Strikecraft Turrets.
In Skirmishes they can be quite useful for harassing enemy resourcing operations.
In War Games they are quite important on anti-strike craft duty. The Brawler Pattern artifacts tend to perform better than Harrier. But be aware they can still die rather easily, a rather costly aspect while in the resource-starved War Games.
