Gar Naabal, also known as the Great Engineer, was one of the great thinkers of the Time of Reason. It was he who designed the system of wind baffles, dikes and sand paths which kept the ancient city of Saju-ka from being absorbed by the Great Banded Desert. This great feat of engineering was undone by Miirpat Gaalsien-Sa, who ordered his Kiith to destroy the city's defenses, thus killing thousands of innocent people.
