In-Game Description[]
Heavy-duty front-line firepower.
Strong vs. everything.
Weak vs. heavy Capital Ships and single-target, high-damage opponents.
Hiigaran Intelligence has had difficulty assessing the Incarnate Destroyer-class simply because so few Hiigaran ships survive encounters with this class of enemy. The aptly named "Devastator" is a threat to all classes of ship at all ranges and should be considered a priority target in any AO.
Analysis[]
An incredibly dangerous ship. Compared to the Hiigaran Destroyer it has shorter-ranged weaponry, but that is its only shortcoming. The Devastator is faster, tougher and has a heavier weapon array, making it a vicious mid to close-range fighter against every possible ship class. The one and only ship type it has been shown to have trouble against is long-range missile frigates such as the Smart Missile Frigate, who can keep firing on it while constantly moving away faster than it can catch up.
In the Campaign and Skirmishes, this is the most powerful Incarnate ship you can capture as Battlecruiser capture is not allowed, and you would do well to get as many of these as you possibly can.
In the War Games, a stronger version of Incarnate Destroyers with twice as much health starts showing up around mission 2 and in even heavier numbers in mission 3, bearing black primary and white secondary color scheme plus a reddish Incarnate symbol. You will need to either simply run, or have a strong set of long range sniping ships to be able to safely take them on.
