In-Game Description[]
A slow, powerful juggernaut bristling with weapons.
Strong vs. everything.
Weak vs. heavy Capital and single-target, high-damage opponents.
The "Gal’Geth”-class Battlecruiser is a creation of the Incarnate War, and is named after the Hiigaran Super-Volcano for a very good reason...when a Gal’Geth enters a combat area, destruction rains down on enemy ships in all directions. Equipped with the heaviest weapons the Khar-Kushan was capable of replicating, this Battlecruiser bristles with powerful, reliable weaponry with its only weakness being a top speed and maneuverability best described as "lumbering".
Analysis[]
Slow and admittedly powerful, but it has definite drawbacks. It is exceptionally vulnerable against long-range missile frigates such as the Smart Missile Frigate or Torpedo Frigate, who can keep firing on it while constantly moving away faster than it can catch up. In Skirmishes it is literally dead last in the research chain for the Hiigarans so it will take you a while to get them onto the field, and it is very expensive.
Compared to the Incarnate Battlecruiser it has proven less limited in use of its weapons. Everything can fire at all times although not everything can focus on the same target unless it is very large. However any weapons that are unable to hit the Gal’Geth’s main target will fire on any enemy ships in range. Also, the Gal’Geth’s has a small strike craft bay where supporting Strike Craft and Corvettes can quickly dock for repairs, something that the Incarnate counterpart does not have. The Incarnate counterpart, however, is slightly faster and has a stronger hull.
In the Campaign these are unlocked to build in mission 11, Chamber of Storms. However, note that it is entirely possible for you to have captured enough Incarnate Destroyers to have exceeded your Capital Ships fleet cap by this point, so you may not be able to build any of them.
These are never available or fought in the War Games.
