- "Increases fleet capacity by 15, to a maximum of 125. Disruptor weapon enabled via shunting. Deployed from the carrier" — In game description
The Guardsman-class Tower Deployable is a static deployable defence turret and logistics module deployed by Soban carriers, most commonly known as armed logistic modules. They function as both defence and logistical support.
Multiplayer[]
Armed logistics modules or ALMs often function both defensively and offensively. Their disruptor cannons can disable all enemy vehicles in a small area, and deal a minor amount of damage. The more power the Soban carrier channels into defensive logistics, the more powerful the ALMs become, with an increased fire rate, greater damage and increasingly higher launch range.
By default, at level 0, ALMs are not armed and do not fire at any enemy vehicles nearby.
At level 1 to level 5, ALMs gain increased fire rate. At level 5, their fire rate is so high, they can stun lock enemy vehicles, with multiple ALMs being able to stun lock many enemy vehicles and prevent them from returning fire. Level 4 and 5 increases their damage from 40 to 50, and 50 to 60 respectively. Each additional level of power increases their range and at level 5, they can be launched over very long distances, at a similar range of artillery cruisers.
Armed logistic modules can defend resource nodes, but they're generally more effective supporting an offensive force by disrupting enemy vehicles during a firefight, forcing enemies to direct their attention and fire on the armed logistics modules. Given that the Soban carrier can launch them at very long ranges, it's generally quite easy to place them behind enemy defensive lines.
Given that they disable units in an area, they are relatively more effective at groups of LAVs or sandskimmers that tend cluster together when encircling their targets. Since their disruptor cannons can disable cruisers, they are also effective that impeding battlecruisers, particularly Soban battlecruisers. Given that they are a small unit, railguns somewhat have issues targeting them accurately. In any case, in order for them to truly be a threat, additional carrier power level must be researched.
ALMs cannot engage air units.
