I've got a bunch of game screenshots to upload, but it looks like the multi-upload feature is disabled or something. Is there a way to get access to this?

Perhaps the page "Command Ship (HWM)" should be renamed to "Flagship (Mobile)". The game consistently refer to the player ship as flagship, and there is a Command Ship which is a common enemy.
Note that we have Carrier (Mobile) and similar pages, and I wonder whether we should rename all mechanic pages, which use the (HWM) postfix, to use (Mobile) postfix or HWM prefix to be consistent with other wiki pages.
Writing my results here since it seemed inappropriate to put them on talk pages of the talk pages.
Goal: Find out how if ion beams all deal the same damage; find out fire rates of each ion beam ship; determine which has the best damage per second.
I have one each of ion beam, multi beam, and ion array frigates fire upon the derelict alien ship, timing how long each attack takes as well as how much damage is inflicted on the hull. I am assuming that the Taiidan Ion Beam frigate is identical in performance to the Kushan one. The IBF used here is the Taiidan version.
After each complete beam duration, the damage is:
*Multi-Beam Frigate: 5464
*Ion Beam Frigate: 2984
*Ion Array Frigate: 2196
The amount of time between the first laser beginning to fire and the second beginning to fire is:
*Multi-Beam Frigate: 14.5 seconds
*Ion Beam Frigate: 7 seconds
*Ion Array Frigate: 7 seconds
Given the slowness of my reaction time, +/- a second for each of these times. MBFs fire almost exactly at half the speed of their counterparts.
Given that MBFs deal over twice the damage of IAFs, but less than twice the damage of IBFs, this means that theoretically IBFs have the highest DPS, followed by MBFs, followed--fairly distantly--by IAFs.
*Multi-Beam Frigate: ~390 DPS
*Ion Beam Frigate: ~426 DPS
*Ion Array Frigate: ~313 DPS
This also confirms that not all beam weapons are made equal. Further testing should be done on the Kushan, Heavy Cruiser, and Destroyer beams.
Conclusion: Ion Beam Frigates are equal to or superior to Ion Array Frigates in every way, with better movement speed, identical durability, and considerably stronger lasers. MBFs are slightly weaker overall, but have much greater burst damage potential.
I was just wondering if the developers of HOMEWORLD have discussed the possibility of porting the game to OCULUS Quest/Quest2 ? I feel this game would be breathtaking and quite immersive if it were experienced in VR.
Newcomer of the series here. I've noticed that some pages have grammatical errors and have corrected them for flow, but there are larger projects that I would like to tackle and would like to ask for clarification first.
Many of the ship pages have not much gameplay information outside of their infoboxes. For example, the salvager page did not mention that it takes a specific number of salvagers to capture each type of ship, even though I would personally consider this to be crucial information for its usage. Is omitting such information intentional for this wiki? Is this wiki supposed to be a repository on ''Homeworld'' lore, not gameplay?
Besides questions on the purpose of the wiki, some standardization seems like it would be beneficial. For example, the Scout page has a "History" section and a "Background" section, and what the difference is--either in the names of the sections or the sections themselves--seem to be unclear. Other ship type pages simply lack a "History" section altogether, at least from a cursory glance. Was such a choice deliberate, or did the editors not get around to standardizing?
I look forward to learning more about this game from this wiki and its community.

I've re-read some pages abd in the page of Rachel S'jet there is that "It is implied that Rachel is an ancestor of Karan S'jet."
Well they are from the same kiith and are both girls
What sources says thats they are related in any way?
HW1 was a turning point in my life and IMO never been surpassed!!
I'm hoping against hope that HW3 can be be incorporated with the ESA's GAIA star mapping mission Public Domain 3d star catalog that contains precise information on the relative distances, motions, sizes, and color information of about 1.3 Billion stars!! As well as additional information about other celestial objects!
HOW awesome it would be to to have epic battles within a Real Galaxy with real stars!! Heck not to mention a Real Super Massive Black Hole located in the Galactic Core!! AWESOME selling Point me thinks!!
Do this and uncountable gamers and geeks can die happy!!
Cheers Mate! from Australia.
Lou.

I have been modding Homeworld 2 since its release in 2003 as a hobby. For the last year or so I have been spending serious time (6 - 12 hrs a day) in creating a new mod that I plan upon releasing to the community. This morning, at 0300, I inexplicably ran into an error while loading the mod and I cannot for the life of me figure out what the problem is. I am hoping that someone here can help. This is the first time I have asked for help regarding my mod on any forum.
The error, as it appears in the hw2.log:
parameter: attempt to call global `ClassInitialize' (a nil value) stack traceback: 1: function `oninit' at line 90 [string ""] CPUPLAYER -- error in CPUPlayer: oninit() function was not found in CPU script -- FATAL EXIT
The dumpfile only repeats this error with no further info.
The “ClassInitialize” call referred to is located in default.lua and refers (or used to refer) to the ClassInitialize function in classdef.lua via a dofilepath. I cannot imagine why there is an error at all as I have touched neither the default nor classdef files since last successfully loading the game. The files that I was tweaking, just prior to the error, were hgn_mothership_parade.lua, build.lua, research.lua and my mod’s ‘deathmatch’ lua gamefile. Although I have attempted to ‘undo’ all changes I have made, the error remains.
I know that there are some real experts here that are far more knowledgable than I. Might someone assist me in troubleshooting this difficulty?

Anyone know if any future work on Deserts of Kharak is planned/in progress? I know it wasn't a popular title, but I did like the story and fleshing out of Kharakian culture. I can easily see a new single-player DLC installment happening, focusing on consolidation of Kharak's other kiiths (Paktu and Maanan would be interesting spaces to explore). Since it's the original Homeworld team, I could also see some ideas about having megaliths being a consistent installation between missions (similar in a vein on how Moon Project did campaigns). It's a way you could tell a story *and* have a nice place to retire/rebuild/tweak your ships for future missions.
Personally not sure why Sobaan/Khaaneph DLCs were released, it's sad but MP was dead on arrival it seemed like.
